Sequins, glitter and all things pretty

I must admit that I am obsessed with glitter, sequins, shiny things right now! I was browsing through eBay tonight, and I bumped into this amazing gold sequin top, which in my opinion was so over priced considering that it was going to be shipped over from a factory in China and was going to cost me $50 with postage.
Then I had an amazingly DIY idea, why not make my own? I could probably buy a simple top similar to that one, and just sew the sequins on. I hardly have any time right now because my finals for subjects at uni are coming up :( but what do they always say?
"You only make time for what you want to make time for."
Therefore even if I don't get to work on it too much I'll try finish it over the next month :) I figured if I posted an entry about it I'm bound to commit to it and get cracking on it! I just need inspiration I think :) so I've gathered a few photos, including the actual top I was going to buy ;) but to avoid any discrimination I won't tell you guys which one it is :)
Most of these, I just Google-d so they're completely random and just ones I saw and loved so I saved pictures. Number 1 caught my eye first, it's casual...but not too casual. Does that make sense? I could wear it to uni during the day, or even out to dinner...or if I was to dress it up a little more I could even wear it out clubbing. Looks like a dress with a lot of potential! But since we're girls, we hardly ever use our clothes to their full potential.
Three is just simply amazing, I fell in love the second I saw it. I want it, better yet, I need it!
What I'm planning on DIY-ing is very similar to number 5 that's why I saved that one :)
How interesting is 6? It would be a toughy to wear, but I still like it. It's an interesting piece, something you would see on the rack and think "hmm, yes or no?" but then you try it on and you like it.
Number seveeeen! It's so original, I bet it was a vintage piece :) can't get stuff like that unless you pay some ridiculous price for it, either way it's beautiful and individual. I love cardies, but this goes beyond any cardie I've ever owned. Simply beautiful! It could transform an average outfit into a head-turning-jaw-dropping phenomenon.

Sequins.. glitter.. sequins.. glitter! I love it :D I see so much on tumblr as well. I've been obsessed with all things glittery and shiny for a while now, but I think my tumblr addiction has added another lot of obsession onto that (along with my hello kitty obsession, oh gosh).

I'm going to end this post with this pretty little outfit. It's a little out there , I know! But for the sake of this shoot, whatever it was for, I think it goes really well. I'm in love with both pieces of clothing. I would love to find out where they were from, unfortunately I didn't think of that last night when I was searching for these pictures :(.

Hoping you all have a splendid Friday :) xoxo

PS, I have my BellaBox coming in the mail this week coming (jumping up and down on the inside right now hehe), if you have absolutely no clue what I'm yapping on about please proceed to opening a new tab and google it :P. They have something similar in America as well (except they get full sized products and not samples), and I'm quite excited. I shall post about it when it arrives! Ciao for now :)

Little black dress went for a night out...

Does anyone else have an excessive need to shop? If I see those special four letters next to each other       "S - A - L - E"...yep those letters, my face lights up, my heart starts beating faster and I automatically have this massive smile on my face like I just won a brand new Ferrari. I'll even admit it that I got a little excited now, and I have a cheeky little grin on my face just at the thought of it :).
I was browsing through Facebook last Tuesday morning, and I happened to see a post by a Melbourne store called Venus & Mars who sell amazing clothes. They had a small quiz posted and I thought I might check it out.
It was a picture of Rooney Mara at a Film event in a dark green Louis Vuitton dress (I have the exact picture but for some reason I can't find it on my lap top), and I remember seeing that exact picture the day before on-line somewhere. I guessed right and I received a discount code I could use on their online store, I didn't have much to spend last week, so I went into the sale section (yes here we go once again with the sales hehe), and I found a lovely "Bebe Sydney" (make sure you don't get it mixed up with the American brand Bebe, the brand they often sell in Europe as well) dress that I thought might be nice as I was going to go out on Thursday night anyway and I wasn't sure what I was going to wear. The dress was already down from $130 to $65, and my code got me an extra 10% off, and if you ask me, a $71.50 discount on a dress is quite impressive (especially when it's so pretty).
Excuse the terrible quality of the photo (I had to resize them), and my boring boring face in these :), there were hundreds of other girls in the club and I didn't want them to look at me weird for having photos taken of me haha. The dress is so pretty! It's nothing flashy, it's more timeless and classy. It also has a cut-out back which I didn't get a photo of. The hemline of it is quite flattering considering black lace dresses always fall so heavy on me. It has a layer of a mesh material under it so cover up of course, but that's a little shorter than the lace, it looks a lot more flattering like this than dresses that end both fabrics the same length. I teamed it with a pair of silver glittery high heels.

I was so suprised that my dress arrived in the mail the next day, I don't normally order things online so I thought that express postage meant two-three days (might I mention free express postage Australia wide, yippee). They must have sent the dress the same day :), how lovely of them! I ordered the dress around 1pm, so it wasn't in the morning either, I was so happy! I messaged them on Facebook to let them know I was doing this post as soon as I got to wear my dress out and I have a few pictures, and they were so positive about it and very lovely :). I hope to shop at Venus and Mars again soon! There are so many things that I would love to buy but I don't have a job at the moment :(, although I hope I helped all you out a little today.
I highly recommend them as I was treated so nicely during my shopping and I guarantee that you won't regret your purchases :), which I can't say often for many stores both online and in store. I just had a look and they also sell mens clothes, which means if your boyfriend isn't the most stylish guy on the block you can always help him out a little ;) just blame it on me recommending the store.

I made a list of their Facebook, online store etc, so you can have a look at their collection :)

This was a little different than what I usually would post about, but I hope you all enjoyed it :) I sure did, I love the dress and I love Venus and Mars! Please check their store and facebook out :) it's definitely worth your time.

Have a lovely day :) xoxo

Versace Resort 2012

Donatella, I bow in front of you.
I can say that more than 3/4 of this collection says "ME". These pieces are so chic! Don't you agree? Especially the white mini dresses with the colourful patterns of them, they're so colourful, summery, but they look clean! I love going out in a white, it looks amazing and I feel so clean and fresh. I fell in love with this collection the second I saw the first piece :) I sure didn't need convincing. This collection is like ice cream on a hot day with whipped cream and two cocktail cherries on top (because one is never enough). Words cannot describe how yummy it is :)

My most favourite one is.........
Ta-daaa! This little beauty was head to head against the other white dress, that has the green, blue, black, and mustard pattern from halfway down. This was my fave because it's just so chic, summery (I love love love summer, but who doesn't?!) and the cut of it is so individual. When I saw this one, I felt like a little girl, let out a little squeal and went back to my first reaction, the dropping of my jaw. The belt and shoes break the dress up a bit in my opinion (in a good way of course). The belt was necessary I think, simply to emphasize her waist just the right amount. Designers are really cheeky...did you see the shoes she's wearing? I don't think I would go into my wardrobe and team those shoes with that dress, it looks really good but I just wouldn't think to pair it.
Jewelery is minimal, which in my opinion looks great for this shoot but I may have put a gold bangle on the model but left the neck area without any jewellery.

I love dresses that make my hips and waist look curvy and feminine! So naturally, this made my jaw drop. I can sort of see a fashion emerging from this dress, if you've seen body suits and leggings by Black Milk they have the skeleton patterns on it. I'm not sure if this is what Donatella was going for, but to me it feels like it. There is no other dress a woman can feel sexy in other than a body hugging sweetheart neckline strapless dress. That's just my opinion though. This piece would definitely be a showstopper anyone, just as must as the rest of the collection (and if I saw correctly, the black parts have sparkles on them and omg I love sparkly garments right now).

These were my two faves of the collection but I could go on and on and on.....
Those pants look like they were drawn into the picture! So amazing, I love these. The interesting neckline just works so well with it, there is definitely nothing ordinary about this dress. I wish I could just try one of these pieces on :(, I'll probably never get to though.

I hope I inspired some of you to open a new tab, go on Google and search some more of the collection because it truly is amazing. Have a lovely day ladies :) xoxo

Back...for good this time

The other day someone very smart said to me "you make time for what you want to make time for", and to be honest I've been making up excuses as to why I don't just sit down here and make a post already! I have so much to talk about, so much to tell the world. I have tried other, what I thought easier means of getting my thoughts out there about the topic I love the most...fashion of course :), but they just didn't work out. I thought about YouTubing, I got so inspired by some people on there that I wanted to do the same but my little digital camera is just not up for it :P. Either way, I liked writing, editing was just too much for me it was so complex amd I had no idea how to do it. I wrote this all in a flat half a minute, so you can just tell how much I needed to write.
Anyways, back to my big news! It wasn't so much big news as much as me being excited on working on new projects. I have a friend, a lovely friend, who happens to be an aspiring photographer and she asked me to style one of her photo shoots and of course I accepted the offer (I would've been silly not to). I had to use my wardrobe, but that wasn't too bad, it made me realise how many times I haven't worn some of the items hiding in there. I dressed both girls head to toe in my clothes, it was pretty fun but I didn't imagine that an amateur styled shoot would take this much effort to plan.

Now...for the pictures ;)
My inspiration for this outfit was a  weekend road trip somewhere beachy. Byron Bay? If you're not from Australia and you don't know where that is, make sure you google it because it's worth a look :) and a visit! I love the necklace I teamed with the dress, I've had the dress way before I got the necklace and whenever I wore it, it felt a little empty as if it needed something extra, and I found it! Finally :) The bag I got while I was in Europe thinking I would wear it heaps, but I never get the chance to, I've probably only worn it about twice in the last 8 months. It's a lovely bag, but it never fits my uni stuff into it :(
The wedges I paired with this outfit I was completely in love with the second I saw them, firstly because it was just perfect nothing over the top but nothing too plain either (if you saw the back of it you would know what I mean), and secondly because they only cost me $17.50 :O and I'm always up for a bargain when I'm strapped for cash. The bracelet you see on the model was handmade for me by a lovely friend back in Europe :) I love it, and I've paired it with so many of my outfits, it's a simple wooden bangle wrapped in a thick white crotchet ribbon.

Our second model had a completely different vibe to her, she was a little more delicate a little more shy, therefore I decided to put her into more romantic and vintage clothes. I love this outfit! I got the top from my best friend for my birthday, and I wore it out that night to dinner with a pretty high waisted skirt :) you can't see properly but it has a lovely pearl detailing at the top. These shorts are also from the same shop (forever new, my weakness!) and the 'belt' was originally bought as a necklace about a year ago now :P, I put the same shoes on her as I did with the previous outfit, how clever?! :) Our hair stylist never showed up to the shoot, without any notice and we couldn't even reach her mobile so I had to make do with what we had. By that meaning, we had no combs or bobby pins, and we didn't think we had any hair ties. So, with my trusty YouTube knowledge I did a side braid which actually started from the other side of her head all the way down :) I wear this hairstyle heaps actually, it's my go to when I woke up way too late or I just want to give my hair a break from any heat styling. The pearls I paired with this outfit were a birthday present I got from my mum this year, aren't they sweet? I already had a pearl necklace, but a girl can never have enough pearls...or gold, or diamonds for that matter ;)

This outfit was shot last, and we really rushed the photos because our model had to go to work :( she already had to be late because of this. As much as we rushed it they turned out really well! I love this outfit, I wasn't sure if I was pushing it with the necklace, but afterall the look I was going for was really blingy and out there. Colour-blocking was a huge trend this season, and I wanted to elaborate on that. I always see girls colour-blocking but they always have the most minimal jewellery on it. I wouldn't wear the necklace out with the clothes but in the shots they looked really well :), the top...okay so let me just explain that we had some problems with this top. It's a size 6, as it's mine..and the model is a size 10! Lucky I took safety pins with me, so the model (and my top) lived on after this shoot.

I had so much fun with this photo shoot, and I think I get to style another one next weekend. We haven't figured out any models yet, but we have a few girls and boys in mind :). I have a fair few new pieces to my wardrobe since then, as winter has let us know that it's back and here to stay for a little while :(. My time spent on eBay have gone up (I haven't realised how many good deals there are on there until now), and the temperature has decreased. I love summer! I hope I'll somewhat enjoy this weather with my new forever new coat though ;)

I better wrap it up :) I'm at uni, I just really badly wanted to finish this entry as it has been sitting in my drafts for a week now.

xoxo <3 have a lovely day :)
